Privacy Policy

Overview

ShotGenio provides browser-based screenshot editing and an optional AI caption generator. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the service. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to support@shotgenio.com.

Information we process

• Account information such as your email address, user identifier, authentication session, plan, and credit balance.
• Transaction records such as purchased product, external order identifier, entitlement, and credits granted. Payment card details are handled by Creem and are not stored by ShotGenio.
• Usage records showing when caption credits are generated, refined, purchased, or refunded. We do not store caption text in the account database.
• Screenshots, prompts, previous captions, and instructions that you intentionally submit to the AI caption generator.
• Support messages and information you choose to include when contacting us.

Screenshots and browser storage

Editing, compositing, and export normally occur in your browser. The current screenshot, filename, media type, and workflow state may be kept in your browser's session storage so work can survive a reload or sign-in redirect. Removing the image or signing out clears these session values. Theme preference and upgrade-notice timing may be stored in local storage.

When you choose Generate Caption, the screenshot is sent through ShotGenio's server to Groq for AI processing. Caption refinements send the caption and instruction and generally do not resend the screenshot.

How information is used

• Provide authentication, editing, AI captions, exports, purchases, entitlements, and support.
• Protect the service, enforce the Terms and Acceptable Use Policy, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot failures.
• Maintain transaction and credit records and comply with legal obligations.
• Improve reliability and understand aggregate service operation without using screenshots for advertising.

Service providers

Information is processed by service providers as needed: Vercel for hosting, Supabase for authentication and database services, Google or X when chosen for OAuth, Groq for AI inference, Creem for checkout and payment administration, and Pexels when you use image search. Their processing is governed by their own terms and privacy notices.

Retention and security

Account, entitlement, credit, and transaction records are retained while your account is active and afterward when reasonably needed for security, disputes, accounting, or legal obligations. Browser-session data remains subject to your browser's storage behavior. AI and infrastructure providers may retain request or operational data under their own policies. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of account information by emailing support@shotgenio.com. We may retain transaction records where required by law or needed to establish legal claims. You can clear browser storage through browser controls and avoid AI processing by using the editor without generating captions.

Children and changes

ShotGenio is not directed to children under 18. We may update this policy as the service changes and will publish the updated effective date here.
